Est. 1929 — Valduggia
Alfredo Zucchetti set up a modest foundry in 1929, in Valduggia — a village in the province of Vercelli, in northern Italy. That workshop is where the whole thing began.
Today the Zucchetti Kos Group is still in family hands. It is led by the third generation — Elena and Carlo Zucchetti, together with their cousins Marco and Paolo — and it has grown into four factories and a logistics centre spanning 72,000 square metres, with 400 people producing two million articles a year.
Innovation, design and quality are the milestones that have guided the firm decade after decade — not a positioning statement, but the way the work actually gets done.
Continual reinvestment in the production departments — equipment and technology updated so the process, the manufacture and the products keep improving.
Every collection begins as a designer's sketch and is carried through with its own internal logic, right to the finished object.
Feasibility studies, modelling, working drawings and workshop testing — nothing reaches production until it has earned it.
Sketch → industrialisation
Each collection carries its own internal complexity. A project travels from the designer's opening sketches all the way to industrialisation — a stage Zucchetti's own in-house technical team develops through feasibility studies, modelling, working drawings and workshop testing.
Only once a design has survived all of that does it move into industrial production. It's a slower way to build a tap. It's also why they last.
Made in Italy
That entire production design cycle — from concept through to the industrialisation of the finished product — is carried out within Zucchetti's own Italian factories. Nothing is farmed out.
Major resources have always gone back into those departments: upgrading equipment and technology to optimise the processes, the quality of manufacture and the products themselves — and, just as deliberately, the welfare and safety of the people operating them.
